On October 18th, Höegh Borealis, the world's largest and most environmentally friendly 9100-car dual-fuel car carrier of the Aurora series, embarked on its maiden voyage from China Merchants Heavy Industries' Haimen Base. This vessel is the second new-build ship for Norwegian Leif Hoegh & Co,, with HBM responsible for the general contracting of interior installation.

A grand naming ceremony for Höegh Borealis was held on September 11th at CMHI Haimen Base. Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre, a special guest during his visit to China, delivered the opening speech. After a month of meticulous finishing and lean enhancements, HBM successfully delivered the interior project with zero comments.

Höegh Borealis is the second of 12 Aurora series car carriers, a joint venture between HBM and China Merchants Heavy Industry. The scope of the interior works general contracting project is similar to the first ship, Höegh Aurora, delivered in August. The scope included the living area, wheelhouse, cargo hold, cabins, and more. Despite a tighter construction timeline and a slight change in work scope, the HBM project team successfully met all milestones, including shipyard sea trials, the naming ceremony, and final delivery.

The team's focus on customer satisfaction, efficient resource mobilization, and quality assurance ensured a successful project outcome.
